Southwest Airlines has announced today that they are beginning an evaluation period for free wifi access on board their aircraft. They have partnered with Yahoo in the development. Southwest is using satellite technology for the access aboard their planes. They are first in the US airlines to use this delivery method.

Pocket Wizard announced today in their press release exciting new technology. Many users have bought their devices for absolute firing of remote flash/speedlight slaves reliability. I had bought mine several years ago for wireless freedom of sync cords with my studio strobes. They can do double duty because the needed cord that hooks into an SB800 comes supplied. It is the PC1 cord.

ControlTLâ„¢ system uses a transmitter and receiver type system. It looks like iTTL and eTTL are also supported. No more huge clunkies! Upgradable firmware too. Planned obsolescence not! The new MiniTT1/FlexTT5 are supposed to be compatible with older units. So you shun TTL? that’s fine, one of the huge selling points is their size and lower profile than the Plus II’s.


Canon release set for March 1, 2009. Looks like Nikon is slated for 2Q.
